KBC has also been recognized for achievements in safety by the Department of
Defense.

currently maintains the highest safety rating that is awarded by the Department
of Defense.
The following are just a few of the highlights of our total safety program
at Kerrville Bus Company:
- Our safety regulations meet or exceed all DOT regulatory
requirements.
- All drivers are DOT certified.
- We
maintain full-time safety directors for our four locations and
these directors report to a regional director of safety.
- Strict monitoring
and adherence to DOT regulations relating to hours of service regulations.
- All employees (drivers, mechanics, managers, etc.) are
subject to random drug
and alcohol testing.
- Our total medical management program exceeds DOT requirements.
- Drivers attend comprehensive, monthly safety meetings
in order to review current safety issues and discuss any new safety concerns
or topics.
- Refresher safety training
is periodically conducted for veteran drivers through
classroom and computer-based training.
- Emergency training for our motorcoach
operators and dispatchers.
- All drivers
receive comprehensive training relating to Americans
With Disabilities Act.
- Each new-hire driver receives three weeks of training.
The new hire training involves one week of classroom instructions and
two weeks
of vehicle
training by veteran driver-trainers.
